About Alamo

Alamo is a proposed 69.9 MW solar project located in Gasper Township, Preble County, OH. The project will consist of thousands of interconnected solar modules mounted on racking affixed to steel pilings driven into the ground without need for concrete foundations. Alamo has been working with the community, township, county, and state to permit this project since 2018.

The Project will occupy about 900 acres of agricultural land, which can be returned to farming after 40 years. Construction of the facility is expected to begin in late 2021 and take about 12 months.

In 2020, Alamo secured its Qualified Energy Project Tax Exemption and Agreement with the Ohio Development Services Administration and Preble County. As a result of this agreement, Alamo will pay local taxing jursidictions $489,300 per year for the life of the project - approximately 15x the tax revenue the same land generates under CAUV. Local schools major beneficiaries of this funding and are “held harmless” by the state, meaning that reveue from Alamo does not reduce state funding. An additional $139,800 per year also goes to the County General Fund.
