Alamo is excited to join the Preble County community. We’ve been working hard to show the community the incredible benefits that a solar project can bring to the community. Along the way, we have heard many questions and concerns and have received extremely valuable input that has helped shape Alamo into a better overall project. We look forward to continued collaboration with the Preble County community.
Revenue
Alamo represents $629,100 in annual revenue to Preble County and local taxing jurisdictions including Gasper Township, Preble Shawnee, Eaton City Schools, the Library, and more. This predictable, long-term revenue is approximately 15x what is collected currently off the same acres.
Jobs
Alamo is required to use 80% in-state labor during construction. While construction projects are temporary (up to 12 months), each project represents a portion of the career of a construction worker. Alamo will hire a wide variety of skilled and unskilled positions to build the project.
Environment
Alamo is injecting its electricity into the Dayton Power & Light electric grid, bringing renewable energy to Ohio cities, towns, and businesses. Additionally, Alamo plans to use a mix of native plantings and pollinator habitat on much of the perimeter of the project. Likewise, the entire project area will be planted with native grasses - reducing the quantity and improving the quality of stormwater runoff into area water bodies.
